In July of 2010, Rev. Dr. Terry Long, along with 13 organizers, founded St. Paul Baptist Church in Fairfield, CA, and on December 5, 2010, they held their first worship service at Unified Christian Fellowship Church in Fairfield.

St. Paul is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches of the Central Pacific Coast, and the Progressive Baptist State Convention of California.

The son of Rev. Clarence Long, Pastor of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Columbus Ohio, Dr. Long was led to follow in his father’s footsteps, and was called to preach the gospel in 1983 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

Dr. Long was duly ordained by the American Baptist Churches USA, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Vallejo, California in July of 1992.

He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from DeVry University, Columbus, Ohio, February 1985; a Master of Divinity Degree from the American Baptist Seminary of the West, Berkeley, California, May 1991; and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from the San Francisco Theological Seminary, San Anselmo, California, May of 2000.

He received four Clinical Pastoral Educational Units from the St Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, October 2015.

Dr. Long received the Ecclesiastical Endorsement from the American Baptist Churches, USA.

Dr. Long received certification as a Board Certified Chaplain with the Board of Chaplaincy Certification Inc. an affiliate of the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), November 17, 2017.

Dr. Long is currently serving as the Pastor of the Saint Paul Baptist Church in Fairfield, California, and Dr. Long is currently working part time as a Chaplain.

Dr. Long served as the Pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church, 2005 to 2010, Vacaville California.  Dr. Long served as the Youth Minister at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Vallejo, California, 1991 to 1999 under the leadership of retired Pastor Rev. Dr. Caroll Broadfoot, Jr.

Dr. Long volunteered as the Executive Secretary for the Progressive Baptist State Convention of California, 2008-2012.

Dr. Long volunteered as a Member of the Board of Trustees, American Baptist Seminary of the West, Berkeley, California, 2009-2015.

He has received several awards and recognition for his work in the ministry to include the Dr. J. Alfred Smith Sr.

Outstanding Minister in the Black Church, American Baptist Seminary of the West, Berkeley, California, the L. Doward  McBain Preaching Prize for Outstanding Preacher, American Baptist Seminary of the West, Berkeley, California, and the Doer’s Award for Feeding the Hungry, Friendship Baptist Church, Vallejo, California.

Dr. Long is a Shepherd with a vision and he has a heart for the unsaved, and a passion for equipping spiritual leaders with the knowledge, skills for the work of the ministry.

Dr. Long is married to Michelle Long, our First Lady.  He is the proud father of 5 children and 4 grandchildren.
